Fitness Tips For The Corporate Woman

Fitness Tips For The Corporate Woman

Being a modern woman, you understand how hectic and demanding it is to work within a corporate setting. Your daily routine is composed of meeting up with people, lunch on the desk, heavy workloads and maybe a takeout dinner if you have time to eat. Indeed, with these millions of things that you need to tick-off from your daily task list, finding time for personal fitness almost seems to be an impossible feat. Add to that, your weekends are probably filled with other activities related to home keeping, socializing or catching up on sleep if you are lucky enough not to do your overtime.
But, as they say, fitness should be viewed as a lifestyle, one that does not make you feel like it’s a part of your work. Although you might find it hard to keep up in the first few days, sticking to a healthy routine will eventually become a habit. In time, you will find that exercising and following a healthy diet plan will play a major part in your life. Below are some tips on how you can stay fit and healthy even with the number of work and family responsibilities that you regularly face.
• Be a morning person. Waking up early in the morning does not only make you feel more productive during the entire day, it also gives you extra time to do some yoga or early morning runs. You might think of putting it off at the end of your day or squeeze it in during lunch, but the more you try to prolong the wait, the higher the chances that you will not do it during the day.
• If you can’t exercise on a daily basis, schedule your work-out sessions. Regardless if you are doing yoga at home, or if you want to go to a gym, planning your schedule for working-out will give you an idea of what goes on during the day. This means that if you have scheduled an early morning run tomorrow, the lights should be shut off by 10 in the evening.
• Work-out in the office. The internet has a lot of exercise tips for people on the go and these are actually very useful if you can’t find time to squeeze in some toning exercises during the day. Bring a pair of weights that you can lift on intervals while reviewing your reports. Office yoga lets you stretch your extremities without having to go all-out with your yoga positions in a corporate wear.
• Plan your meals according to your schedule. Working people are notorious for skipping out on their meals, dining in restaurants or having fast food take-outs because their schedule doesn’t provide much time to prepare for meals. You might have encountered the same situations before and there are probably some days that are busier than others. That is why you need to sit down at the start of every week, and check your calendar of activities. This way, you can determine which nights you are actually free to cook for the meals that you can eat on the succeeding days. You can even cook in batches and store them in separate containers so all you need to do is take one container and re-heat it before eating.
• Have a stash of healthy snacks or protein shake in your bag. You might think that skipping dinner or small meals in between can help you lose weight, but it actually doesn’t. When your body lacks the nutrients that it needs, your system will find it hard to burn calories. Healthy snacks such as nuts, fruits, low sugar snack bars will fill you up on occasions that you find yourself strapped in your desk. Another thing that you should frequently have with you are sachets of protein shakes. These are easy to prepare since you just need water and a container, and you’re good to go.
